  • Sinners In IRAQ ( bpb perspective )

The agent had persuaded Anna that she would fly to Dubai the next day. She was in her dreams assuming her future life. She was going as a cook in a restaurant. That night was washed away when the early rays of sun grew higher up in the horizon. The agent came to her house and gave her the flight tickets. In her happiness, she even forgot to see the destination prescribed on the ticket. She sat on the plane and her eyes were wide open when she saw the plane landing at the International airport based at Baghdad. This was Anna's first ever trip to the Middle East. The agent had deceived her. She got off the plane but didn’t know her destination. She stopped a taxi and drove out of the airport.

The first thing she saw was a suicide bombing leading thirteen children dead. She saw the blood- the thickness- the bones- the nails- the brain- the squeezed eyes- the scattered toes- the blood-drained mouth. She closed her eyes; dreamt Jesus and collected herself. She saw ruins everywhere. There were people but awaiting death. There were birds, all desiring death. There was greenery amidst ruins.

She went to a nearby hotel. She saw the former prez’s broken statue. There were foreign soldiers, all fixing their hawk eyes upon her body. One day, when she left the hotel for a dangerous drive of the city- few soldiers caught her and took her in their long jeep. They threw her on a roadside when she got unconscious after continuous cycles of evilness from the so-called protectors; so called mass-destruction weapon finders. She remained there as such for many days. And when her life was losing all hope, an Iraqi woman took her to her home. She fed her well. Anna gained consciousness but she wanted to spit; spit into the faces of the bloody damn soldiers. What a soldier is for! “ Soldiers are always such, wherever you go- they are bastards. A good soldier is a pearl within the sharp-edged oyster,” she thought.

After few days of struggle, Anna left this world. The evil within the uniform, the hollowness within the bullet had shown its true colour. Anna had gone to a much-civilized world where there is respect for gender. The Almighty made only two genders in this earth- the male and the female. They have their physical peculiarities but none should prevail dominancy on other. As for such, the perpetrators, invaders had outraged a civil war in Iraq. They were struggling for their own life. They have no future in Iraq. Middle east shouldn’t be the empire of Western influence.

Middle East, make your identity; exhibit the courage. Nourish a leader; don’t flourish dictators. Be courageous; don’t feed on the filth of the foreigners. Many Annas are seeking justice. Many secret courts will be flashed. And the world will know their actions from Congo to Guantanamo.

  • Lady With The Cigarette

    Put on the lip gloss,
    sprayed the perfume.
    Trimmed for fancy-
    a lady took a cigarette.

    She blew it,
    up and above.
    Over and around-
she gazed the cloud beneath the cloud.

    Oh, her mirror-
    she took it out.
    Eh, she was slim-
    just marking the centennary.

    Cigarette,
    inserted with the carcinogen.
    Expelling the cyclic compounds-
    she walked past me.

    She threw her eyes,
    to this fellow standing;
    Watching all this-
I viewed the world through her eyes.

    I saw her innocence,
    not with the smoke.
    But with the negligence-
    of her marital affairs.

    I got confused,
    when she asked my words.
    For the event-
    For the moment.

    I got blessed,
    she threw the cigarette.
    I thanked her-
    i saw her blinking eyes.

  • On Feeling the 'SLOW POISON'

    We did meet one day,
    one fine day.
    And the moments-
    brightened with the celebration.

    I opened my eyes,
    once, twice, thrice...
    You were there-
    holy thy be blessed.

    Darkness,
    and the lustre.
    A fairness,
    within the presentation.

    Dare I say,
    you are lovely.
As lovely as the glowing stars-
but they are distant, I know.

    Lend me your palm,
    I want the warmth.
    Lend me your feelings,
    I'll spark the glance.

    I'd been loving you,
loving for the sake of loving.
    Not knowing,
    yet ignoring.

Shall I curse my fate ?
Shall I thank the one ?

I'll be there at the liberty,
    you'd be below it.
    waiting for me-
    And we'll travel the tube.

    Many years ago,
    I walked down the street,
    with my own pace,
    caught a girl-
    sobbing besides the bridge.
    i canoed through,
    reached to her-
    asked what went wrong.
    She told of her mother-
    she told of her father.
    Who did love each other;
a love which lasted a day-
that was a one night stand.

    I don't know why,
    people are so indulged.
    Are these gender built-
    just for recreational object.

    The girl got birth,
    now-
    She will seek an orphanage,
    else she'll explore the slums.

    Do you find,
    a love in this ?
    Do you get,
    the realism besides it ?

    I don't think,
a love bound with these circumstances-
    can make an existence,
    can prove my devotion.

    Yet,
    even in my dreams.
    I find you-
    searching the land of liberty.

    Worries,
    won't know any bounds.
    But,
your words will always inspire me.

  • Hansel and Gretel ((( Via Fragmentation)))

Hansel and Gretel has been the household tale after the Grimm Bros. retold it in their collection. I hereby present my interpretation of Hansel and Gretel in a fragmented form. I hope to hear your comments.
    1
An early morning. The birds singing their own song. The boy in the yards. The parents inside. Plucks a flower. Got the thorns pierced. Threw it of the second hand. Put his thumb inside his mouth. The blood felt salty. A few while later, stopped bleeding. Mother came. Saw his thumb. Cared him and put a bandage over it. Was happy to get it. Laughed, giggled; again went out.

    2
Had the boy a sister. She was clever. One fine day heard their father and mother planning to abandon them in a jungle. How come they think of leaving their children though everything they needed- they had. The parents drove them from city to countryside. After some time they reached a jungle. Had a house in the middle. Parents lived their for some days; showing it was an outing.

    3
And a day later, the boy and his sister were alone in the jungle. Their parents had escaped in midnight. These two went deep into the jungle. They saw a dove's heart moving to and fro within dry leaves. It was a fall but nearby they saw a giant house filled with chocolates and pastries. The roof was clouded with hot chocolate. They both jumped into the ocean of sweetness and began eating. Suddenly, a witch with crutches caught them both and wished to eat the girl. The boy proposed to easily eat both of them. The girl had a matchstick which she had brought from her home.

    4
The witch boiled water in a large pot. She wanted to vaporize the living two and have them hot and steamed. All at once, the girl lit the matchstick through the stone and threw towards the witch. The witch burnt to ashes. She yelled for help while the duo collected all jewels inside the house. They put them in their pockets and found their way to the mainroad of the city.

    5
They finally saw a lorry coming through the west. They came in between the road and shouted for a ride to the city. The girl had known the house number and lane. They were admitted inside by the lorry driver. Surprisingly, the lorry driver was their own uncle who was searching them both. Their parents were also worried, he pretended(*1). At last, he dropped them in their house and left the scene.

    6
The parents were glad by the reunion. They hugged them, kissed them. Their mother had died(*2), so they got the stepmother's hugs and kisses ! They gave the jewels to their father; he became happy and praised them. The girl asked the reason for abandoning them in that dangerous point of time. The father shut up his mouth.

    7
A few moments later, the police came along. They arrested the father in charges of murdering the duo's mother. He was handcuffed and trialled in court. He got life imprisonment. The two children wept for their beloved mother and cursed their father. But astonishingly after sentencing of their father, their mother came home safe with another guy who had saved her life finding her unconscious by the roadside. the children had their eyes wide open.

    NOTES:
(*1)=he is likely to be involved in the case.
    (*2)= as per father's words

  • ALL IN A NIGHT...

    Death,has the passerby,love his moments-
    But they aren't for long.
Wealth, jewels and his all garments-
For one day, they'll all be gone.

Beneath his bed, lies a pocket radio, and that is small-
But he wouldn't be able to hear it.
As the mightiest forwarded a call,
The body can't even wait a bit.

Beside his body, no one lies; for he has no belongings-
But he would face the situation.
He didn't earn friendship from his spendings-
And now no one cares for his cremation.

In the wall, is hung, the picture of Monalisa;quiet, smiling.
But he would make no smile.
For his life has been piled up; is now piling,
And for now, he has to make a bitter exile.

Laughed, along the sea; the tides went along-
But he drew out the tears.
The mighty's bliss with the painful song,
As for death, who now fears.

  • Were, Are and Will Be...

    Whenever i close my eyes,
    I see you.
    Standing by my side-
    holding my hands.

    You,
    were with me.
    In my suffering-
    in my gain.

    The smile in your lips,
    made my sorrows escape away.
    The very words of yours,
    brought the downpour of feelings.

    Whenever I breathe,
    I think of you.
    Caring for my life-
    you have made my living.

    You,
    are with me.
    In my defeat,
    in my feat.

    The shyness of your eyes,
    made my thoughts nourish.
    The very touch of yours,
    brought the goodness within me.

    Whenever I speak,
    I think of you.
    Loving me in the dawn-
murdering all the parts of night.

    You,
    will be with me.
    In my fall-
    in my spring.

    The pureness of your soul,
    made my inside think.
    The very knock of yours,
    stimulated the person within.
