On the auspicious occasion of World Environment Day-2009, Bed Prakash Bhatta caught up with three students from Institute of Agriculture and Animal Sciences, Rampur to discuss on the burning issue of climate change. The blogger met them at their paying residence in Mangalpur-1, Chitwan district, Nepal. The detail of those students and the interview taken is being presented below. Hope you will have a look and comment as well:

1. name : Meghnath Pokharel, age: 20 years, sex : male, education : B.Sc. Agriculture, semester Ist, e-mail : pokharelmeghnath@gmail.com ;interests: drawing, studying, acting, yoga practice.

2. name : Jeewan Pandey, age: 20 years, sex: male, education: B.Sc. Agriculture, semester Ist, e-mail: your_jeewan@yahoo.com ; interests: writing ghazals.

3. name: Suresh Pokhrel, age: 23 years, sex: male, education: B.Sc. Agriculture, semester Vth, e-mail: pokhrelsur@gmail.com; interests: meditation.

----
QUESTION 1.
what is Climate Change as per your understanding?
Meghnath : It is deviation of weather from its natural condition.

Suresh : It is need of time. It will be stabilized with time amd is especially elevated or originated by evil acts of human beings.

Jeewan : You need to change the format of interview.

QUESTION 2.
what sort of individual efforts can you implement to combat Climate Change?
Meghnath : I won't drive cars, establish eco-clubs in my village and college.

Suresh : Through meditation, we can live sustainably as natural as you are and it leads to the sustainable management and utilization of natural resources. Consequently, sustainable management leads to the balance in climate for overcoming Climate Change gradually.

Jeewan : I can indulge in participation, awareness and leadership activities.

QUESTION 3.
could you possibly enumerate the impacts of Climate Change in and around your locality?
Meghnath : Imbalance in rainfall, temperature rise.

Suresh : Maize crop in our area (Nawalparasi) couldn't be planted in time due to erratic rainfall; temperature significantly rose during summer this year; mosquitoes increased; legumes production declined due to less or no rainfall.

Jeewan : Food scarcity; hailstorm blew away leaves of maize; fruit production (citrus, pear) declined; barren lands increased.

QUESTION 4.
Which factor is most contributing to Climate Change?
Jeewan : Human Activities

Meghnath : More production of CFC through Human Activities.

Suresh : Direct factor-- production of GHGs; Indirect Factor-- Uncentred human mind.

QUESTION 5.
Which aspect of environment is hit hard by Climate Change?
Suresh : People near coatal regions, sea-shores.

Jeewan : Human Beings.

Meghnath : Living Beings

----
QUESTION 1.
what is Climate Change as per your understanding?
Meghnath : It is deviation of weather from its natural condition.

Suresh : It is need of time. It will be stabilized with time amd is especially elevated or originated by evil acts of human beings.

Jeewan : You need to change the format of interview.

As we all know, global climatic change has been showing adverse effects on environment worldwide. Many portions are observing the scanty of rain whereas some are being washed away with floods. Some nations are living under freezing temperatures whereas some are under extreme heat. The overall rain pattern, temperature, season cycle, habitat of polar animals, glaciers, ice-caps, sea level have been affected. And it is all due to us. We are contributing to Green House Gas (GHG) emission. We are depleting the ozone. It is high time for us to act or the time shall come NEVER.

in this conservative world.

Those words
exhibit
hatred
sympathy
love, and
anger.

Upon the bouquet
marked are the words
and they disappear
along with the winter
as if
somebody kept 'camphor'
in mouth
instead of the tongue.

Words begin to fly
and do a dance
they search the speaker
but, perhaps
it was a voice from infinite sky
or a thunder
that was hurling
unclear word arrows
on the earth.

Words begin to cry
with the descend of rainy days
perhaps!
to forget the scorching heat
of the summer.

Watching the quarrel
of words
in the spring
resembled the return
of nature's creator
back to the Lord's asylum.

Why don't these words
reach others' ears
else
that speech was never spoken
that was 'silencer' fitted bullet
that was the strike in the steel plates
when clouds cried
or
that was the 'gas chamber' used by Hitler.

Those words
those sentences
and if they had
they should have been heard
they should have been understood
a devotee
asked for rain
suddenly
began the downpour
mind turned dilemmatic
today-
the wind will blow faster than ever
or a tempest will arrive
else
any huge
catastrophe will occur.

Spoken words
are like splashed water
and short messages
reach to our heart
as if
nettle thorns
are inserted into our skin
and teasing
human tolerance.

This rain
might bring
a joyous new morning
or may shower
the concentrated nitric acid.

Clouds
neither black nor white
not even brown
the drops coming from
colorless clouds
show her image
her lovely face
deep eyes
with a splash
of her sweet voice.

Hope that she'll come
and spread
her beauty
and tell me the reason why
the clouds are sobbing.

Her laughter
will pacify
the pace of water
and the devotee's praying
will be justifiable
a devotee
asked for rain
suddenly
began the downpour
mind turned dilemmatic
today-
the wind will blow faster than ever
or a tempest will arrive
else
any huge
catastrophe will occur.

Spoken words
are like splashed water
and short messages
reach to our heart
as if
nettle thorns
are inserted into our skin
and teasing
human tolerance.

This rain
might bring
a joyous new morning
or may shower
the concentrated nitric acid.

Clouds
neither black nor white
not even brown
the drops coming from
colorless clouds
show her image
her lovely face
deep eyes
with a splash
of her sweet voice.

Hope that she'll come
and spread
her beauty
and tell me the reason why
the clouds are sobbing.

Her laughter
will pacify
the pace of water
and the devotee's praying
will be justifiable
entire universe is
upon her lips.
